Baz¨ga Education Community Raises 1.2 Million FCFA for Peace Efforts

Baz¨ga: Basic education stakeholders in the province of Baz¨ga have successfully raised 1,200,000 FCFA to support peace initiatives in Burkina Faso. This fundraising effort took place during the second edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education in Baz¨ga, Claude Ou©draogo, emphasized that the mobilization of funds is part of the event held from March 26 to April 9, 2025. “For this edition, we requested voluntary contributions from all stakeholders in basic education in the province to support peace works,” stated Mr. Ou©draogo.



The funds were collected following a call to action, where classroom teachers and administrative staff from various educational structures contributed to the cause. The sum was then deposited into the provincial treasury of Baz¨ga.



In addition to fundraising, the event featured several activities, including a flag-raising ceremony accompanied by the national anthem “Ditany¨” in the national language, civic awareness sessions, and sanitation activities within educational services and structures.



The provincial director expressed gratitude towards all the stakeholders involved in preschool, primary, and non-formal education in Baz¨ga for their active participation in the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation.
