Sissili: The AIB has collected messages from Fulani community leaders aimed at enhancing social cohesion in Sissili province. Through these messages, the leaders have called for calm and harmonious unity within the locality.

According to Burkina Information Agency, El Hadj Moor© Diallo, head of the Fulani community in Sissili province, emphasized the critical role of cohesion as a pillar for development in the province. He noted that all communities have consistently shown their commitment to promoting social cohesion by participating in activities organized for progress, whether initiated by canton chiefs or local authorities. Diallo highlighted the role of the association of traditional and customary chiefs of L©o (ACTCL) in facilitating effective conflict resolution and fostering exchange and dialogue among communities.

Mr. Diallo expressed that these frameworks allow communities to collaborate in a spirit of brotherhood, reinforcing the coexistence that has become a strength for Sissili province and a model for other regions. He stated that living together is not only pivotal for development but also ensures peace and stability. Djibrilou Diallo, head of the association for agro-pastoralists, echoed these sentiments, attributing the Fulani community’s massive presence to the province’s hospitality and the cultivation of mutual respect and recognition among communities.

He mentioned the Pulaku cultural days, which gather various communities annually to engage in discussions and activities centered on social cohesion. These events, under the sponsorship of canton chief L©o, Piou Dan Zw¨, are designed to raise awareness of good inter-community relations. Djibrilou Diallo stressed the importance of dialogue and tolerance for promoting social cohesion in Burkina Faso.

Bark© Bolly, a trader born in L©o, praised the peaceful coexistence with the Gourounsi, describing their relationship as brotherly. He expressed gratitude for the harmonious environment in Sissili province and prayed for its continued peace and security. Similarly, Idrissa Barry, director of Radio Tampani, acknowledged the Fulani community’s integration and significant role in the province’s development, particularly through agro-pastoral activities and government-supported projects like the Reed+ Project.

Barry urged the Fulani community to maintain unity through cultural activities and to distance themselves from individuals seeking to disrupt coexistence in Sissili province.
