Swazi nationals nabbed with cannabis at Buitepos (The Namibia Press Agency)

Two men were arrested for possession of cannabis worth about N.dollars 30 300 at the Buitepos border post on the Trans-Kalahari Highway on Saturday.

Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi told a media briefing yesterday the suspects, both Swazi nationals, were arrested at about 16h00.

They allegedly drove a minibus from Swaziland en route to Windhoek.

A police officer on duty became suspicious of the two men and took the minibus through a scanner where the drug, also known as dagga, was found hidden in the roof of the vehicle.

In total, 29 parcels of dagga, weighing 25,808 kilogrammes with a street value of N.dollars 129 040, were seized and the two suspects were arrested.

The suspects, aged 26 and 27, will appear in the Gobabis Magistrate’s Court today.
