Typhoid Vaccination: Tougan District Chief Medical Officer Calls for Everyone’s Involvement

Tougan: The District Chief Medical Officer (MCD), J©r´me Nikiema, called on Saturday for the involvement of all stakeholders for the success of the typhoid fever vaccination campaign scheduled from January 23 to 29, 2025. The meeting room of the Tougan health district hosted, on the morning of January 18, 2025, an advocacy workshop on the typhoid fever vaccination campaign.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the district medical officer (MCD), J©r´me Nikiema, stated that this vaccination campaign is the largest ever seen in ten years, as it will concern children from 9 months to 14 years old. He invited all stakeholders to get involved for the total success of the vaccination campaign. “This campaign is a major intervention. In ten years, we have never had such a big target. We have been instructed to work to ensure that all stakeholders can be involved so that the campaign is a success,” he said.



The Secretary General of the Province (SGP), Wendyam Martial Ou©draogo, representing the High Commissioner for this advocacy, invited the participants to listen carefully and urged them to show commitment to the success of this campaign.



Let us recall that this vaccination campaign is planned from January 23 to 29, 2025, and will affect approximately 10 million children aged 9 months to 14 years throughout the national territory.
