ANGOLA ATTENDS SADC DEFENCE AND SECURITY MEETING IN SWAZILAND

An Angolan delegation headed by the minister of the Interior, A´┐Żngelo Veiga Tavares, is participating on Feb 2-4 in the SADC Ministerial Meeting of the organ of Defence and Security of this regional organisation.

According to a press note from the Ministry of the Interior, the meeting is discussing, among others, issues related to poaching across the border.

The agenda of the meeting also includes the analysis of ways to implement the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC)'s strategy to fight against poaching, in line with the decision of SADC's Council of Ministers and the Protection Plan of the Natural Resources Across the Border outlined for the 2015- 2020 period.

The delegation to the meeting is also integrated by the secretary of State for Forest Issues of the Ministry of Agriculture, Andre de Jesus Moda, in representation of the incumbent minister of Agriculture, as well as senior staffs of both ministries.
