Boulgou: The municipal coordination of citizen monitoring associations of Bittou handed over food and walkie-talkies worth 3,243,000 FCFA to the Combatant Forces and the parents of the victims, during a meeting in support of the transitional authorities, organized on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Bittou bus station square.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the municipal coordination of citizen monitoring associations (CCAVC) of Bittou organized a meeting to recognize the efforts made by the transitional authorities in combating terrorism in the commune of Bittou. This event took place on November 2, 2024, at the Bittou bus station square.
The CCAVC presented 80 5-litre cans of oil, 2.5 tonnes of corn, 2.7 tonnes of rice, and 4 walkie-talkies to the Bittou municipal police. Additionally, an envelope containing 100,000 FCFA was given to the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland in the village of Bekoure. The total value of the donations was 3,243,000 FCFA.
The CCAVC stated that the purpose o
f the meeting was to pay tribute to the local fighting forces on the battlefield and provide donations to the families of the Defense and Security Forces, as well as to volunteers and fallen civilians.
The event was sponsored by Mohamed Lamine Diabaté, the prefect and president of the special delegation of the commune of Bittou. It was held under the theme: “contribution of citizen monitoring in the fight against terrorism”. Certificates of recognition were also awarded to individuals who have contributed to the development and resilience of the commune of Bittou.
