Ouagadougou: The Burkinabè Minister in charge of the Environment, Roger Baro, received the 2024 African Governance Prize on Wednesday, rewarding the best Minister of the Environment in Africa.
On the basis of a quantitative scoring model applied by consultants and expert juries, Minister Roger Baro obtained the highest score among the candidates in his category, indicate the communication services of the ministry in charge of ‘Environment.
It is the result of a comprehensive selection process which involved nomination by the African public, through conduct, performance and impact assessed by dedicated research consultants, and finally an expert assessment of these same criteria compared to other nominees in the same category by the specially constituted international prize selection jury, it is added.
Absent at the award ceremony organized on June 5, 2024 in Ghana, Mr. Baro finally received his trophy on July 10, 2024.
