Ouagadougou: Security Minister Mahamoudou Sana on Thursday praised the commitment and sacrifices of Chief Warrant Officer Brahima Dougouri, honoring his 34 years of service against insecurity and terrorism within the Mobile Intervention Unit Group (GUMU-11).
According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Mahamoudou Sana met with the commander of GUMI-11 and Chief Warrant Officer Dougouri to express recognition from both the highest authorities and the Ministry of Security. Dougouri, who is retiring, had continued to serve voluntarily, despite his advanced age, until October 5, 2024. His efforts have been instrumental in stabilizing high-security areas, aiding the return of displaced populations, and strengthening partnerships between the police and communities.
In a certificate of recognition, Minister Sana highlighted Dougouri’s patriotism and invaluable contributions, expressing hopes that his example would inspire others. Dougouri, visibly moved by the recognition, expressed gratitude and a continued
willingness to serve if needed. Reflecting on his career, he urged younger officers to remain committed to their duties.
Chief Warrant Officer Dougouri’s retirement marks the end of a distinguished career characterized by dedication and courage in challenging security environments, leaving a legacy of service to the nation.
