Ouagadougou: The secretary general of the province of Léraba, Yéonviel Somé, presided over the international day of nurses in Sindou on Saturday July 6, 2024 in Sindou. Nurses received certificates of recognition.

Under the chairmanship of the secretary general of the province of Léraba, Yéonviel Somé, a tribute was paid to a pioneer of the nursing profession, Florence Nightingale born May 12, 1820 and died August 13, 1910
. Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) were also honored.
Yéonviel Somé showed his satisfaction with the choice made for his province and launched an appeal for good collaboration with the population towards nurses.
Activities such as blood donation, conference on the theme, free screening for hepatitis B, blood pressure, diabetes and a popular cross were car
ried out.
Health executives and authorities from the Léraba province received certificates of recognition.
An envelope of 200,000 CFA francs was given for the peace effort.
The president of the order of the national council of nurses of Burkina Faso, Bombila Sawadogo, as well as the regional director of health and public hygiene of the Cascades, Dr Wenkoni Ouédraogo, congratulated the nurses of the region for their prowess.
They appealed to those who have not yet enrolled in nursing to do so for a thriving nursing family in the Cascades.
The representative of the sponsor, Moussa Traoré, indicated the satisfaction of the sponsor, as a son of the locality and sponsor of this event. MK/hb/bz
