Ouagadougou: The ministers responsible for civil aviation of the member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) adopted, this Friday in Ouagadougou, new texts to meet the current challenges of air transport and take into account drone operators.

The heads of the departments in charge of civil aircraft within the UEMOA adopted texts respectively on the community code, on aviation security and finally on the procedures and practices within members of the community area.

Rereading these texts will ‘take into account new players such as drone operators,’ indicated the Burkinabè Minister in charge of Transport, Anûuyirtole Roland Somda.

Le ministre Somda a rappelé à ses homologues le besoin de poursuivre les efforts pour l’opérationnalisation de l’Agence Communautaire de Supervision de la Sécurité et de la Sûreté de l’Aviation Civile (ACSAC).

In his opinion, this will make the airspace of the sub-region much more competitive and much more attractive which could lead to reductions in flig
ht prices and facilitate the free movement of goods and people
