Prime Minister, Dr. Apollinaire Joachinsom Kyélem of Tambèla urged on Wednesday, during the second phase of the national days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation, the youth, to appropriate the ideals of Captain, Thomas Sankara to build a prosperous and sustainable Burkina .

‘We came to materialize our support for what Captain Thomas Sankara had undertaken and to express our desire to continue his work,’ said the head of government, Apollinaire Joachinsom Kyélem of Tambèla.

He also called on young people to adopt the ideals of Captain Thomas Sankara for the construction of a strong, prosperous and sustainable nation.

Dr Kyélem spoke on Wednesday in Ouagadougou at the Place du 2 Octobre, during a graffiti ceremony, in the context of which the father of the Burkinabe Revolution had delivered his Political Orientation Speech (DOP) on the nation in 1983.

This visit by the Prime Minister to this historic city square is part of the second phase of the national days of patriotic commitment and citi
zen participation in Burkina Faso.

‘Young people will have to learn to read and educate themselves so as not to fall victim to media poisoning on social networks,’ added the head of government.

Seizing the opportunity, he also noted that in life, one must give oneself an ideal and that today’s youth must draw inspiration from the DOP of Captain Thomas Sankara to develop the country.

‘Succeeding in life is not about accumulating material things, wealth, etc. There are those who have accumulated wealth, but they find themselves destitute because they have no ideal to fulfill,’ he continued.

For Dr Apollinaire Joachinsom Kyélem de Tambèla, succeeding in life means living according to one’s ideal and achieving it.

Note that the second phase of the national days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation will take place from October 2 to 16, 2024 under the theme “For a strong and sovereign nation, let us not betray our homeland.”
