Quality Journalism Requires a Lot of Reading – Misa

[MISA-Swaziland]The following speech was made by Vuyisile Hlatshwayo, national director of Swaziland’s Media Institute of Southern Africa, at a conference on free speech in Pretoria on August 20 2013. The conference was organised by the African Union’s Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, Media Institute of Southern Africa, and University of Pretoria’s Centre for Human Rights. Hlatshwayo argues that good, informed journalism and editorial content requires reporters and editors to read as widely as possible.
