Sissili: The Association of Nationals of the South-West Region (ARSO) in Léo, in the province of Sissili, Center-West region organized from November 31 to 2, 2024 in Léo, the 3rd edition of its cultural days under the theme “Cultural mixing, factor of peace and social cohesion, in a context of security and humanitarian crisis”.
According to Burkina Information Agency, these cultural days of the Association of Nationals of the South-West Region (ARSO) were chaired by the High Commissioner of the Sissili province, Tewindé Isaac Sia and sponsored by Domètierkè John Hermann Hien. This edition was placed under the theme “Cultural mixing, factor of peace and social cohesion, in a context of security and humanitarian crisis”. The organizers stated that these cultural days are an annual event aimed at bringing together nationals of the South-West region in Léo, in the Sissili province to celebrate their cultural heritage.
These days were also marked by artistic performances and an exhibition of local dishes to prom
ote the cultural wealth of the South-West region and Sissili. Traditional dance troupes and modern music artists who took turns on the podium offered the public present at the leisure area of the Sissili de Léo inn, shows.
The 1st vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Léo, Saïdou Yago congratulated the members and sympathizers of the association who have promoted culture in general and that of the South-West in particular since its creation. Mr. Yago invited all the communities living in Léo to favor solidarity, fraternity, and social cohesion in their daily actions. The president of ARSO-Léo, Nabaga Da recalled that the association was created to respond to the absence of a framework for expression, exchanges and friendly meetings of the South-West community in Léo. “Thus, beyond promoting the culture of the South-West region, it is about creating an integrative and recreational framework with the other communities living in Léo” he suggested. He expressed his gratitude to the local aut
horities and the sponsor for their availability and their support for the association.
Nabaga Da also praised the commitment and support of all the resource persons and members of the association as well as the sympathizers for the running of the structure. The sponsor, Domètierkè John Hermann Hien and the High Commissioner of Sissili, Tewindé Isaac Sia praised this initiative which constitutes a springboard to strengthen solidarity and fraternity between the communities living in Sissili. Mr. Sia hoped that this event would contribute more to the promotion of social cohesion in Sissili. The ceremony ended with a tasting of local dishes.
