Somali Foreign Minister arrives in Jeddah to attend Arab League meeting

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Abshir Omar Jama (Huruse) has arrived in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attend the Arab League's foreign ministers' meeting.

The meeting serves as a precursor to the summit of the presidents of the Arab countries.

The foreign ministers will discuss current issues in the Arab world and prepare for the heads of state meeting on May 19th in Jeddah.

Topics such as debt relief, the long-standing arms embargo on Somalia, and Somalia's bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for 2025-2026 will be addressed by Minister Abshir with his Arab counterparts.
