South Africa: Royal Swaziland Police and Accomplices Busted for Possession of Dagga

"Operation Basadi" executed by Women in Blue in the province as part of the activities which are conducted to celebrate Women's Month, is making tremendous strides in the fight against crime.

Policewomen have shown guts and determination in their efforts to showcase safety. The Middelburg Cluster alone, has busted a 28-year-old Constable from the Royal Swaziland Police Service stationed at Enyonini in Swaziland, together with his two accomplices aged 27 and 28. The trio's arrest came after they were stopped at a road block which was staged by the brave women at the Weigh Bridge in Hendrina.

During the search, the policewomen found three brown parcels containing compressed dagga to an estimated street value of R33 630. They further uncovered that the suspects were heading to Emalahleni to deliver the loot.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Hendrina Magistrate's Court tomorrow, 12 August 2016, facing a charge of possession of dagga.
