The National K9 Deployment Unit pounced on two suspects, aged 22 and 32, during midnight and seized Dagga to an estimated street value of R7 00 000, 00.
The suspects were busted after police received a tip-off about a truck that was from Swaziland crossing to South Africa through the Oshoek Port of Entry. The truck, which was en-route to Johannesburg, was spotted and stopped by the police between Carolina and Wonderfontein for a search. During the search, police discovered and seized 42 bags of compressed Dagga.
The suspects were then busted on the spot and the truck was seized as well; they will make their first appearance before the Carolina Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of dealing in Dagga.
