Vice-President in Botswana for SADC Summit (allAfrica.com)

The Angolan Vice-president, Manuel Vicente, arrived on Sunday in Gaborone, capital of Botswana, where he is attending the 35th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) on behalf of the Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.

Set for Monday and Tuesday, the event is taking place under the motto “Accelerate the industrialization of SADC economies through the manufacturing of natural resources and valorization of human capital”.

The summit is going to debate issues related to the financial situation of the organization and the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP)

The operationalization of the development fund for the support to the regional integration and the industrialization programme also include the agenda of the meeting.

The SADC comprises Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
