Boulgou: The Dierma Citizen Watch, with the support of local populations, its diaspora in Gabon, and the provincial office, has inaugurated a bridge connecting two neighboring villages, previously difficult to access during the rainy season. This achievement was welcomed by several traditional leaders and associations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the project was the result of community contributions and aggregate management. It was warmly received by various customary and association leaders, who also made a strong appeal for solidarity and proper management of collective resources. The president of the Dierma Citizen Watch, Adama Niaon, emphasized the importance of seeking internal solutions to challenges before looking for external assistance.

He highlighted that the initiative successfully mobilized around 8 million CFA francs, with 3.8 million invested in the bridge’s construction and 1.8 million in drilling. Niaon attributed the project’s success to rigorous management and collective commitment, acknowledging the community’s crucial support in bringing the bridge to fruition.

The Tiimnaaba of Dierma urged the local population to support more local initiatives, noting that large-scale projects often draw both supporters and critics. He stressed the importance of staying resolute in the face of criticism.

Provincial coordinator of the Boulgou Citizen Watch, Augustin Beban, praised the determination of the inhabitants during the ceremony. He commended the community for transforming their contributions into a tangible project that now enhances mobility for residents of Koumbor, Lengha, and Dierma Peulh, and aids the development of economic activities. Beban also called for the responsible and transparent management of community resources.

The construction of the Dierma Kapo bridge serves as a testament to the power of solidarity within the local community and the effective management of resources from aggregate extraction. It also highlights the success of local initiatives. Customary and community leaders encouraged the population to continue this path, fostering social cohesion and transparency in managing common resources to ensure future successes.
