Boulgou: Traders Triumph in Second Edition of Maracana Inter-Service Cup

Boulgou: Traders emerged victorious in the second edition of the Maracana inter-service cup final, held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Bittou multipurpose hall. The event was initiated by the president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Bittou, Mohamed Lamine Diabat©, in collaboration with the youth of the commune.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the Maracana Inter-Service Cup aims to foster social cohesion, solidarity, and coexistence between civil servants and the private sector. The final match saw the traders’ team narrowly defeat the gold miners’ team with a score of 3-2. As champions, the traders’ team was awarded a trophy, 75,000 CFA francs, and a ball, while the runners-up, the gold miners, received 50,000 CFA francs, a ball, and medals.



The competition also recognized third and fourth place winners. The third place team was awarded 25,000 FCFA, a ball, and medals, whereas the fourth place team received 10,000 FCFA and a ball.



Mohamed Lamine Diabat©, who sponsored the inter-service cup, expressed his satisfaction with the youth of Bittou and commended the entire population, the constituted bodies, directors of services, and the defense and security forces for their unwavering support. The captain of the gold miners’ team, Soumaila Kabor©, also expressed his appreciation for the match and encouraged the youth to embrace unity and togetherness.
