Boulgou: The Zabr© town hall has initiated a training program for 100 women, focusing on soap production and kokodonda fabric-making, at the Maison de la Femme. The training, which began on July 17, 2025, aims to foster economic empowerment by providing the women with essential skills in these crafts.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training session spans four days, with 50 women participating in soap-making workshops and another 50 engaging in kokodonda fabric production. The initiative is part of broader efforts to support local development and empower women economically.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Alain Boubi© Bassono, the prefect and president of the Zabr© special delegation. He commended the women’s participation and highlighted the training as a form of recognition and encouragement for their contributions to local development. Bassono encouraged the participants to disseminate their newly acquired knowledge within their cooperatives and expressed confidence that this commitment would benefit the Zabr© community and beyond.
The municipal women’s coordination’s general secretary conveyed appreciation to the PDS, underlining the beneficiaries’ resolve to apply their training effectively. Meanwhile, the president of the Pag-la-yiri association urged the women to actively utilize their new skills, emphasizing that financial independence hinges on both individual and collective efforts.
The training includes internally displaced women among its participants, underscoring the inclusive nature of the initiative.
