Ouagadougou: The Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, presided over the symbolic handover ceremony of more than a hundred recovered motorcycles this Wednesday at the Place de la Revolution, a strong act of patriotic commitment. More than 100 motorcycles of various brands, stolen, robbed, or forcibly taken from their owners between 2019 and today, have been returned. These vehicles were recovered by the National Police following a thorough investigation following complaints and statements recorded at police stations across the country.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the handing over of these goods, often essential to citizens’ mobility and economic activities, is a strong signal from the authorities. It demonstrates the determination of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) to combat ordinary crime.
Welcoming the success of this operation, the Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, congratulated the FDS of his department and the Gendarmerie for the work accomplished. Their commitment allowed these motorcycles to be returned to their rightful owners.
This restitution is part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment (JNEP), a presidential initiative aimed at strengthening patriotism, citizenship, and discipline within the nation. Today’s ceremony is perfectly in line with the spirit of the JNEP, reminding us that patriotic commitment also involves protecting the property and rights of citizens.
