Boulgou: The Burkina School and Family Association provides support to 135 vulnerable students in the commune of Zabre for the 2025-2026 school year. The association supplied school materials and covered the educational costs for these students during a ceremony held at the public primary school in Bangou village.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the school’s principal, Harouna Ouedraogo, expressed his joy at having the ceremony take place at his school. Parents, who attended in large numbers, also shared their relief and gratitude. One parent remarked, “It’s a heavy thorn that has just been removed from our feet. We didn’t know who to turn to.”
The Burkina School and Family Association was established by Gilbert Gouba, a resident of Spain originally from Zabre. The national representative, Romain Yabre, commended the resilience of the parents and students, acknowledging their challenges in maintaining educational opportunities for their children. He extended thanks to municipal and educational authorities for facilitating the event.
Mr. Yabre also recognized the contribution of partners in Spain who helped raise the necessary funds since 2019. The association’s support extends beyond school supplies and tuition for primary and secondary students, including financial assistance for tuition, rent, and travel costs.
