Ouagadougou: Early childhood educators (EPE) and early childhood education instructors (MEJE) donated five tons of cement to the Faso Mebo presidential initiative on Tuesday. This gesture was made possible thanks to the contribution of approximately 400 professionals from the public and private sectors. The professionals of preschool structures in Burkina Faso are thus playing their part in the construction of the country.
According to Burkina Information Agency, composed of early childhood educators (EPE) and early childhood education instructors (MEJE) from both the public and private sectors, they made their contribution to the presidential initiative Faso Mebo on Tuesday afternoon. These preschool facilitators, under the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages, donated five tons of cement, thus responding to the call of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, for citizen mobilization for the construction of the country.
“This donation is very symbolic. It is a
way for us to respond favorably to the appeal of the President of Faso,” said Sakinatou Sawadogo, in charge of collecting contributions. Around 400 EPE and MEJE took part in this solidarity action. Joel Bonkoungou, certified early childhood educator, thanked all of his colleagues for their commitment.
“Early childhood did not want to remain on the sidelines of the country’s development efforts. The authorities have considered developing the preschool sector. We want to work to raise our organization to a high national level,” Mr. Bonkoungou confided. The latter also recalled the importance of the role of early childhood in the construction of the personality and the future of the child.
In order to combine business with pleasure, the day’s donors became laborers, actively participating in the making of the paving stones alongside the workers of Faso Mebo. The educators finally called on other professions to follow in their footsteps and contribute, each at their own level, to the development of the country.
