Tenkodogo: El Hadj Ousseni Sorgho handed over 500 molds for making paving stones to the team of the ‘Faso Mebo’ brigade in Tenkodogo on Monday. This gesture comes after an initial donation of cement to support the presidential initiative ‘Faso Mebo,’ which is committed to the development of urban roads.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the molds will be used to produce type 15 paving stones for the development of access roads in several districts of Tenkodogo, including Yarguin and the Cite du 11 Decembre.
During the handover of the molds, held in sector 6 of Tenkodogo, the representative of El Hadj Sorgho explained that this contribution aims to strengthen the operational capacity of the brigade on the various sites. “The beautification of our cities requires concrete actions. These molds will make it possible to produce the paving stones needed for the work currently underway,” he said.
Lieutenant Abdoul Fatah Sawadogo, commander of the ‘Faso Mebo’ brigade, expressed his gratitude for this new support, which he described as continuity in the support of the initiative by El Hadj Sorgho.
The representative of El Hadj Boukare Yamneda specified that the cost of the donation is estimated at 600,000 CFA francs. He emphasized that this action is part of a process of sustainable support for field activities: “This second donation aims to meet identified needs and support the work through to completion. We want to show that it is possible to act with our own resources,” he said.
The ‘Faso Mebo’ initiative, which means ‘Build my country’ in the Moore language, is based on citizen participation and community mobilization around local development. Thanks to this funding, the ‘Faso Mebo’ brigade of Tenkodogo will be able to continue paving activities in new areas deemed to be priorities.
Through this gesture, El Hadj Ousseni Sorgho confirms its commitment to supporting collective efforts to improve the living environment and urban mobility.
