Ouagadougou: Cameroonian philosopher and pan-Africanist, Professor Franklin Nyamsi, expressed his admiration for the Faso Mebo project, highlighting it as a tangible example of African sovereignty and self-reliance. During his visit to the project site in Ouagadougou, Professor Nyamsi emphasized the significance of the initiative as a testament to Africans’ capacity to improve their own living conditions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Professor Nyamsi acknowledged the leadership of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, whose efforts in spearheading the initiative underscore a commitment to empowering the Burkinabe people. The project aims to restore the community’s role as primary agents of their own future, setting a precedent for other African nations.

Professor Nyamsi elaborated on the broader implications of Faso Mebo, describing it as more than just a construction endeavor but a form of “mental therapy.” This initiative seeks to liberate Africans from the reliance on external financial assistance, such as that of the IMF and the World Bank, fostering a sense of independence and resilience.

He commended the determination of the Burkinabe people, viewing them as a model for dignity and perseverance across Africa. The project’s success has inspired plans to replicate its framework in other countries, including Cameroon, to advance a pan-African agenda rooted in work and sovereignty.

Additionally, Professor Nyamsi applauded the collaborative efforts of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) leaders, including Presidents Assimi Goita of Mali, Abdourahmane Tiani of Niger, and Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso. He characterized their leadership as pivotal to the liberation and empowerment of 21st-century Africa.
