Ganzourgou: The High Commissioner of Ganzourgou Province, Ms. Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, chaired the second ordinary session of the Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) in Zorgho. Several presentations allowed participants to discuss ongoing development efforts in the province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting opened with remarks from the president of the Zorgho special municipal delegation, Mr. Valentin Badolo, who praised the regularity of the CCP and thanked the partners whose support makes it possible to maintain this space for exchange. High Commissioner Aminata Sorgho/Gouba expressed her gratitude to the participants and financial partners, including the mining company Orezone Bombore SA and the Belgian development agency Enabel, whose support made the session possible. She emphasized the importance of the consultation frameworks in strengthening the coordination of development actions and promoting dialogue among stakeholders.
Four main communications marked the session. The first, presented by Analira Alira, Director of Environment and Community Relations at Orezone Bombore SA, detailed the Livelihood Restoration Program (PRMS) benefiting communities impacted by the gold project in Mogtedo. Since 2020, more than 833 million CFA francs have been invested. The program supports initiatives in agriculture, livestock farming, and non-agricultural income-generating activities, but challenges remain in beneficiary ownership and opportunity creation.
The second presentation by Mr. Ali Bonkoungou focused on the Faso Kuna Wili Fund (FKW), explaining its functioning, areas of intervention, and support conditions. In one year, 39 people in Ganzourgou benefited from loans totaling 108,400,000 CFA francs.
The third communication, led by Mr. Harouna Karambiri, aimed to strengthen the administrative writing skills of department heads, enhancing the quality of administrative documents.
Mr. Sana Koira from the Belgian Development Agency, Enabel, delivered the fourth presentation, reviewing the agency’s interventions in Ganzourgou. Over 620 million FCFA have been invested in various municipalities through projects in agriculture, education, health, and more, focusing on themes like gender equality and climate.
The session also featured Mr. Mouni Etienne Kabore from the Association Generation Montante pour le Developpement du Ganzourgou, who discussed the association’s activities, including a poultry training center project and the revival of the Warba festival. He sought administrative support for these initiatives.
In closing, the High Commissioner praised the presentations and discussions, urging participants to translate them into actions to improve the living conditions of the population.
