Goulmu: On the occasion of World Teachers’ Day celebrated on October 5, 2025, the Governor of the Goulmu region, Ram Joseph Kafando, paid a vibrant tribute to the teachers of his constituency, saluting their patriotic commitment and their sense of duty in a difficult context marked by security and social challenges.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the commemoration, under the theme “Rethinking Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,” was an opportunity for the governor to recognize the ongoing efforts of those involved in the education system. Teachers in the Eastern Region are described as true fighters against obscurantism, demonstrating resilience and commitment to serving the nation.
Mr. Kafando highlighted the academic performance recorded during the 2024-2025 academic year as proof of the professionalism and determination of the teaching staff. The Goulmu region was distinguished by a success rate of 92.42% in the CEP, 53.56% in the BEPC, and 56.92% in the BAC, thus occupying the first places at the national level.
The governor expressed his gratitude, on behalf of the government and the entire population of the region, to the teachers, technical and financial partners, as well as the NGOs and associations that support the state’s efforts for inclusive and quality education.
He also expressed his thanks to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), whose daily sacrifices allow teachers and students to continue their activities in several localities.
“May their continued efforts continue to inspire our students and strengthen the foundations of sustainable development,” he said, before concluding by reaffirming his commitment to quality education for all.
“Long live the teaching world, long live quality education for all!” declared Governor Ram Joseph Kafando from Fada N’Gourma.
