Leraba: The High Commissioner of the province of Leraba, Yacouba Sawadogo, inaugurated the second phase of the days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation, along with the commencement of the 2025-2026 school year in Sindou. The event emphasized the importance of consuming local products, a call extended to all active forces in the region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, themed “For order and discipline, I commit myself,” marked the 2nd edition of 2025 for commitment and citizen participation days. It was launched in tandem with the start of the academic year on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Sindou. The launch witnessed participation from the province’s vital forces and the staff and students of the local high school.
The ceremony began with the raising of the national flag, followed by messages from the Head of State, Ibrahim Traore, the High Commissioner Yacouba Sawadogo, and the provincial director of Secondary Education, Amadou Traore. The messages underscored the theme of commitment to the nation, urging all Burkinabe to exemplify integrity and responsibility in their respective roles.
Scheduled from October 2 to 16, 2025, the activities include raising national colors, engaging in communal works, paying homage to national heroes, wearing traditional fabrics like Faso danfani and Koko dunda, and consuming local dishes. Amadou Traore affirmed the smooth start of the school year across the province and called on students to maintain discipline and dedication for improved academic outcomes.
He also mentioned that the Head of State’s message would be read in all educational institutions under his jurisdiction. Yacouba Sawadogo offered guidance and encouragement to the students, wishing them a successful 2025-2026 school year.
