Bobo-dioulasso: His Majesty the Chief of Canton B´b´-Mandarª visited the construction site of the new University Hospital Center (CHU) of Pala to observe the progress of the hospital’s development. Accompanied by a delegation of notables, traditional chiefs, and community leaders, His Majesty emphasized the hospital’s significance as a symbol of regional and national pride and a catalyst for future health development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit was marked by gratitude from the construction leaders and the local community. The Chief of the Village of Pala, along with the project’s technical managers, extended a warm welcome to His Majesty. The visit underscored the customary authorities’ support for development projects within the region.

Chinese project leader Li Zhengshan and his team provided a detailed briefing on the hospital’s progress. The hospital, spanning 30 hectares with a 500-bed capacity, is a joint effort by the Chinese group Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG) and the Burkina Faso government. The facility aims to serve the Hauts Bassins region with state-of-the-art medical services and a university teaching component.

The Pala University Hospital Center will feature nine functional areas, including advanced medical and surgical facilities and accommodation for Chinese experts. This partnership is a testament to the collaborative efforts between China and Burkina Faso in enhancing healthcare infrastructure. The government had officially announced the hospital’s creation at the Council of Ministers, highlighting its mission to provide advanced care, professional training, and medical research opportunities.
