Ouagadougou: The Institute of Information and Communication Sciences and Techniques (ISTIC) took part this Tuesday in the opening ceremony of the 10th edition of the Information and Orientation Week (SIO), an annual event which aims to guide new high school graduates towards training adapted to their professional ambitions.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Ms. Mariam Kafando/Sawadogo, head of department at ISTIC, stated that the institute’s participation in this week is part of a dynamic to promote its training offers. “We came to present ISTIC’s services and invite new high school graduates to apply to join our institute. At ISTIC, we practice our passion. There are many opportunities: educational trips, master classes, modern equipment… ISTIC provides direct training for the job market,” she explained, while appealing to the public to come visit the stands for better guidance.
Organized under the theme “Presidential Initiative for Quality Education for All: Rethinking University Orientation for Sustainable Employability,” this 10th edition of the SIO brings together 85 public and private universities and higher education institutes for a week from July 14 to 18. 15,000 visitors are expected to discover the various training programs.
In addition to the presentation of academic offers, participants will benefit from communications on national and international scholarships, university social services, the orientation process via the Campus Faso platform, as well as personalized orientation sessions with specialized advisors.
The event aims to be an essential forum for discussion to help future students make informed choices, aligned with the needs of the job market and their personal aspirations.
