Kaya: The Grand Chancellery organized a public conference in Kaya on Tuesday to promote the nation’s symbols, civic and patriotic values. The conference was chaired by Bernadette Adenyo/Serme, Secretary General of the Koulse region, representing the governor.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this event was part of the second phase of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation 2025. It was led by Dofini Watuanni Tamini, head of the studies and planning department at the Grand Chancellery. Tamini presented the national symbols of Burkina Faso and the civic and patriotic values that should guide the actions of citizens.
The speaker highlighted the fundamental role of national symbols in the unity and identity of the country, emphasizing that respect for them is essential to preserve national cohesion. Tamini stressed the importance of strict respect for these symbols, noting that the penal code includes provisions for repression in cases of inappropriate use of national emblems.
The communicator also pointed out that civic and patriotic values are crucial for fair and inclusive governance. Additionally, the speaker elaborated on the decoration process, explaining that a three-year quota, defined by presidential decree, determines the number of medals awarded per institution.
Karim Badini, Director of Management and Finance, expressed his satisfaction with the interest shown in this activity. He hoped that each participant would become a spokesperson for the Grand Chancellery among the population, advocating for the respect and preservation of national symbols.
