Burkina faso: The educational community of the municipal high school of Bousse has established its first school council, in line with the directives from the Ministry in charge of Secondary Education for the 2025-2026 school year.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the establishment of the school council was supervised by the provincial directorate responsible for secondary education in Kourweogo. The elective general assembly took place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, attended by religious and customary authorities, along with numerous school life stakeholders.
A 13-member executive committee was elected during the assembly, led by community agent Elie Sawadogo. The new president emphasized commitment and collaboration for the betterment of the institution. “We are aware of the challenges that await us, but with the help and involvement of everyone, we will make our contribution to the development of the school,” stated Mr. Sawadogo following his election.
In compliance with the decree that established school councils, the newly formed structure will be tasked with supporting the school in various dimensions, including administrative, educational, financial, cultural, social, and environmental aspects. It will also focus on mobilizing the community to support school activities, promoting awareness about schooling, and developing and implementing high school development projects.
Souleymane Sienou, the representative of the provincial leadership, commended the commitment of the elected members and encouraged them to act responsibly in their roles. Sidi Yaya Boro, the principal of the municipal high school of Bousse, remarked that the creation of this participatory structure is a significant advantage, as it will introduce a new dynamism to school life, benefiting all involved parties.
