Kourw©ogo: Administrative Officials Equipped to Manage Permanent Departures from Civil Service

Kourw©ogo: The Oubri regional directorate of the civil service, in collaboration with the regional branch of the Autonomous Civil Servants’ Pension Fund (CARFO), initiated an awareness session on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in Bouss© for directors and heads of service in Kourw©ogo province. Administrative officials received training on managing permanent departures from the civil service.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the session was chaired by the Secretary General of Kourw©ogo Province, Harouna Kombass©, and aimed to strengthen the capacities of administrative officials on procedures relating to managing permanent departures of civil servants. Mr. Kombass© welcomed the initiative and encouraged participants to pay attention to the planned communications.



The Secretary General emphasized the importance of thoroughly understanding the texts and procedures to ensure rigorous and compliant management of public officials’ end of careers. The regional director of the public service of Oubri, Baboosba Sawadogo, led the first communication, presenting the different ways of permanently leaving the civil service, such as retirement, resignation, dismissal, and death.



Baboosba Sawadogo also detailed the administrative procedures for each case, the responsibilities of personnel management structures, and the necessary supporting documents. Nadege Tiendreb©ogo, head of the regional branch of CARFO, outlined her institution’s missions and highlighted various support approaches available to public officials at the end of their careers. She emphasized the importance of planning ahead when preparing retirement files to avoid pension payment delays.



The participants from various decentralized government departments appreciated the session’s timing. They expressed satisfaction with the clarity of the presentations and the quality of discussions, hoping for the multiplication of such initiatives for improved human resource management in public administration.
