Ouagadougou: The Ministers of Communication of Burkina Faso, Pingdwende Gilbert Ouedraogo, of Mali, Ahmadou Ag Ilyene, and of Niger, Adji Ali Salatou, visited on Friday in Ouagadougou the future radio station of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), whose launch is announced for very soon, following a working session devoted to its establishment.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ministers convened a working session with their technical teams, reviewed the foundational documents for AES radio, and conducted a site visit to ensure readiness for the station’s launch. Malian Minister Ahmadou Ag Ilyene stated that only a few administrative details remain before the AES radio station officially goes live.
The minister emphasized that the station aligns with the objectives set by the heads of state of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, focusing on promoting sovereignty and prioritizing the interests of the AES populations. The radio will also combat issues that hinder the development of member countries.
He further noted that the radio aims to inform, raise awareness, educate, entertain, and promote the values of AES countries. “This radio will also be available to all of Africa and the free world, because the values we uphold here are universal,” added Minister Ahmadou Ag Ilyene.
The radio station is equipped with a control room, a studio, a multimedia broadcast center (CDM), and post-production equipment. It will broadcast via multiple channels, including analog FM, satellite (SBT), digital DTT, and online through live streaming, podcasts, and social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
