Mouhoun: The current agricultural campaign in the rural commune of Douroula, Mouhoun province, is looking good thanks to the commitment of producers and the support of the authorities. Agricultural production is taking place in good conditions and offers an encouraging appearance in several localities of the commune of Douroula.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of the Technical Support Zone (ZAT), Patrice Dofinita Tiao, reassured that the campaign, in general, is going well despite some flooding in certain fields. “Given the current outlook, yields are expected to be good and people will have enough to eat,” he said.
Mr. Tiao attributed these results to the support of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), who ensure the security of the production areas and allow farmers to work in complete peace.
However, some producers report damage caused by stray animals ravaging their crops. “These animals roam late at night and have destroyed a significant portion of my field. Several farms are suffering the same fate,” explained one producer. In response to this threat, ZAT officials and the FDS were alerted to strengthen surveillance and protection of the fields.
