Mouhoun: The Secretary General of the Mouhoun province, Boureima Ouedraogo, representing the High Commissioner, initiated the Pedagogical Animation Days (JAP) 2025 session in Dedougou to advance reforms in secondary education. The event, held on October 7, 2025, focuses on enhancing the capabilities of secondary school teachers through the Competency-Based Approach and Integration Pedagogy (APC/PI).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the primary aim of these Pedagogical Animation Days is to improve the quality of learning and the productivity of the education system by equipping over a thousand teachers and educational supervisors with modern pedagogical skills. These sessions are centered around implementing reforms by the Ministry of Secondary Education to boost teaching quality and promote active and inclusive citizenship.
The JAP serves as a platform for consultation, training, and the development of practical tools associated with ongoing educational reforms. Boureima Ouedraogo noted the innovative focus of this year’s event, aligning with the professionalization trend in Burkina Faso’s education system. He mentioned the establishment of multi-purpose institutions combining general, technical, and professional education to enhance learners’ socio-professional integration.
Ouedraogo emphasized a shift in educational objectives towards training students to undertake, innovate, and meet the demands of the job market. The JAP 2025 introduces several innovations, including communications aimed at strengthening pedagogical skills and teaching civic and citizenship education. Participants will also explore integrating various professions into the education system, in line with the national policy on the professionalization of teaching.
