Namentenga: The High Commissioner of Namentenga province, Adama Conseiga, presided over a ceremony in Boulsa that celebrated outstanding students, teachers, and literacy learners. This event, held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, aimed to motivate and acknowledge the top performers within the province. It was sponsored by Nazinigouba Felix Kabore, a retired controller and promoter of the Schools of Life (Ecovie).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Academic Excellence Day initiative is a pioneering event in the Koulse region, as highlighted by Moussa Ouedraogo, Regional Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education. Ouedraogo praised the Provincial Director of Primary Education and his colleagues for their dedication and resilience, which led to the province achieving a 94.55% success rate in the 2025 CEP session.
Fourteen top students from seven basic education districts each received a bicycle, a school kit, and gadgets. Notably, Lallogo Seraphin, the best boy from Boulsa school in sector 1, and Wendkouni Safiatou Zidouemba, the best student from Boulsa school in sector 6, achieved averages of 9.56 and 9.15, respectively, both receiving a bicycle and 10,000 FCFA.
Additionally, two learners and two non-formal education facilitators were each awarded a bicycle. The top teacher in the Primary School Certificate (CEP) from each of the seven CEBs received a home, a certificate, and 10,000 FCFA. Teacher Zenana Kafando/Bembamba from Boulsa School in Sector 6 was recognized for a 100% success rate in CEP with her 74 students, earning her a computer.
Wendkouni Safiatou Zidouemba expressed gratitude on behalf of the winners, pledging to work harder to merit the support received. Ouiraogo Bernard Kabore, the provincial director of primary and non-formal preschool education, mentioned that 60% of the event’s budget was funded by teachers’ contributions.
Adama Conseiga commended all education stakeholders for their efforts in organizing the academic excellence day and congratulated the winners for their achievements. He also acknowledged the sponsor’s support and the guests’ presence, encouraging educational stakeholders to continue their efforts while promoting order and discipline. Conseiga wished the educational community a successful start to the 2025-2026 school year.
