Sourou: The Provincial Director of the National Police (DG) of Sourou, Chief Commissioner Adama Helou Sagnon, on Wednesday morning, raised awareness among students of the provincial high school about respecting state symbols.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Chief Commissioner Helou Adama Sagnon, accompanied by a delegation, led this initiative on October 8, 2025, with the presence of administrative and teaching staff, aiming to educate students of the Tougan Provincial High School on the importance of state symbols.

This event was part of the second phase of the days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation. It commenced with a solemn raising of the colors, followed by the national anthem, setting the tone for the day’s activities. The Director General of the Sourou National Police emphasized the goal of the campaign, which is to foster patriotism and citizenship in students, as they are seen as the nation’s future leaders.

Mr. Sagnon explained the significance of this initiative, stating, “Since students are the men of tomorrow, we must educate them through mastery of the symbols of the State. This is how they will grow in the discipline and patriotism so advocated by our current leaders.”

In response to the campaign, provincial high school student Aida Aminata Serme shared her positive experience, expressing her commitment to apply what she learned. “I learned a lot today. I promise to put all of this into practice in my behavior. I invite my classmates to respect the symbols of the state,” she said.

Concluding the awareness session, the Director General of the National Police presented a new flag to the school, encouraging participants and reassuring them of the police’s support for a peaceful academic year.
