Ouahigouya: In favor of the judicial return, the High Court (TGI) of Ouahigouya organized on Friday, October 3, 2025, a solemn hearing to install its new President, Richard Lankoande, noted the AIB.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Magistrate Richard Lankoande, who was appointed on July 30, 2025, as President of the Ouahigouya High Court, was formally installed to fully assume his duties. The ceremony was attended by stakeholders from the judicial sector, administrative authorities, and customary authorities of the Yaadga region.
The chief clerk of the TGI initiated the hearing with a reminder of the regulations governing the formal installation of a new president. Prior to the installation, Prosecutor of Faso Aly Benjamin Coulibaly introduced the new court president, highlighting that this would be Lankoande’s first position of responsibility.
During his address, the Prosecutor urged the new president to “accept, endure, absorb,” advising him to listen attentively to those seeking justice as well as his colleagues, and to maintain effective internal and external communication for the success of his mission.
The outgoing president of the TGI, Daouda Koanda, who is transitioning to other roles at the ALT, expressed gratitude to his former colleagues for their support during his tenure. He officially installed his successor, Richard Lankoande, who will also serve as President of the Administrative Court.
Upon his installation, Richard Lankoande expressed gratitude to the High Council of the Judiciary (CSM) for entrusting him with the role. “This choice requires me to give the best of myself to live up to the expectations of the CSM. I am committed with determination, integrity, and professionalism to working for impartial justice, accessible to all and which meets the legitimate aspirations of our people,” stated Lankoande.
The installation ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Yaadga region (SGR), Kouilga Albert Zongo, representing the governor, the president of the High Council of the Judiciary (CSM), Adama Ouedraogo, and several other judicial actors, noted the AIB.
