Niankorodougou: Students from the first class of the patriotic immersion program in the village of Niankorodougou, accompanied by Chief Yaya Ouattara, undertook a significant cleanup effort at the territorial gendarmerie brigade in the rural commune of Niankorodougou on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) were also involved in this cleanup session.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative commenced at 6:30 a.m. in the courtyard of the town hall of Niankorodougou, a rural commune located 30 km south of Sindou, in the province of Leraba. The event began with a ceremony marking the climb of the national roads before the students and VDP members moved to the gendarmerie courtyard to clean the working environment.
The student representative, Yacouba Ouattara, described the cleanup as part of a civic and patriotic effort aimed at the sanitation of municipal infrastructure. He emphasized the action’s goal of demonstrating commitment to civic participation, aligning with the vision of Captain Ibrahim Traore, the president.
Chief Yaya Ouattara of Niankorodougou also participated in the cleanup, expressing that the involvement of the students signifies the existing spirit of unity among them following their return from the patriotic immersion program. He expressed hope for continued harmony between the VDP and the FDS for the prosperity of Burkina Faso.
Edmond Toe, the secretary general of the town hall of Niankorodougou, representing the president of the special delegation of the commune, congratulated the students for their patriotic act, underscoring the importance of such initiatives for the community.
