Ouagadougou: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo chaired the third ordinary session of the Steering Committee of the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP) on Friday, October 10. This meeting brought together members of the Committee to assess the Fund’s performance and consolidate the achievements made since its creation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting focused on three key points: the examination and adoption of the third management report of the Fund, the assessment of the contribution of the FSP to the consideration of human rights by the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), and the examination of the project for the allocation of resources to beneficiaries.
“Through the FSP, a common desire is expressed: that of preserving the integrity of our territory, of defending the dignity of our people and of contributing to the building of a united, proud and sovereign Burkina Faso in the face of current challenges,” declared the Prime Minister. He also paid a glowing tribute to the fighting forces for their bravery and sense of sacrifice in the fight against terrorism.
As of September 30, 2025, the total amount of FSP collections amounts to 142,603,529,418 FCFA, or 95.07% of the recovery forecast set at 150 billion FCFA for the year. During the third quarter of 2025, an amount of 40,830,795,253 FCFA was collected, an increase of 40.12% compared to the level recorded on June 30. Compared to the same period in 2024 (130.36 billion FCFA), the increase is 9.39%.
This level of performance, achieved in a difficult international economic context, demonstrates the determination of the Burkinabe people to support the national effort to defend and secure the territory. It reflects a high degree of patriotism and national solidarity.
Addressing the issue of respect for human rights, the Prime Minister reiterated that it remains at the heart of the national security strategy. The FSP has thus funded several VDP training, awareness-raising, and community dialogue initiatives, designed to strengthen trust between combat forces and civilian populations. These initiatives also aim to preserve national cohesion in the face of the risks of disinformation and manipulation.
“With the courage of our fighters and the solidarity of our people, we will triumph over adversity to build a country that is master of its destiny and open to a bright future,” he concluded.
