According to Burkina Information Agency, the village of Pissi in the commune of Sapone experienced an unusual festive atmosphere on the morning of Saturday, October 11, 2025. The local population and residents strongly mobilized to experience the very first edition of the school excellence day of the village high school, following the 100% performance in the 2025 baccalaureate.

This ceremony was an opportunity to recognize the achievements of several students from all grades, from Year 6 to Year 12. Prizes consisting of a laptop, bicycles, school supplies, and school bags were awarded to the winners for their achievements during the 2024-2025 school year. These prizes were awarded to the best student in the Bac, to the two best in the BEPC (one girl and one boy), to the two best in each class, and to the best girl in the high school in the 6th grade with an average of 18.14/20.

The provincial director of secondary education and vocational and technical training of Bazega, Mrs. Bozie Marie Gilberte Some, on behalf of the regional director of Nazinon, congratulated the winners, teachers, and administrative staff for their achievements. “Your determination is a source of inspiration for your classmates,” she addressed the winners. Mrs. Some also congratulated and thanked the educational community of Pissi for their commitment.

Dr. Georges Kafando, the patron of the ceremony, urged his godchildren to maintain this determination, to believe in their dreams, and to never give up no matter the difficulties. The school’s partners also provided equipment and a board to the high school staff.

According to Principal Alidou Zalle, the Pissi high school achieved a 100% BAC pass rate, a 70.77% BEPC pass rate, and a 72.19% overall admission rate for the 2025 session. In addition to the existing A and D series, the high school will welcome technical education with a civil engineering option for the 2025-2026 academic year, hence its current status as a multi-purpose institution, Mr. Zalle said.
