Sabou: The laying of the foundation stone for the new Sabou maternity hospital took place this Tuesday, facilitated by municipal authorities in collaboration with the Organization for Humanitarian Relief (OSEH), noted the AIB.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the President of the special delegation (PDS) of Sabou, Abdoul Aziz Koara, expressed his approval of this initiative. He mentioned that the new hospital will replace a maternity facility built in 1960, which is now inadequate for modern healthcare requirements.

Dr. Natacha Yriga, acting District Chief Medical Officer (MCD), stated that the new infrastructure will enable women to experience greater comfort during consultations and deliveries. The hospital will be equipped with modern amenities to cater to the evolving needs of maternal health services.

The partnership agreement between the municipality and OSEH, signed on September 9, includes the construction of a fully equipped maternity ward and the installation of an autonomous water station (PEA). This addition aims to enhance water access at the medical center, further supporting healthcare provisions.

This project, arising from a collaboration between the community and its partners, signifies a significant advancement in strengthening the community health system in Sabou.
