Djoro: The governor of the Djoro region, Siaka Barro, officially launched the first phase of the second edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation on Thursday morning. The ceremony took place within the governorate, in the presence of the region’s constituent bodies and key players. It was marked by the raising of the national flag and the reading of a message from the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, by the governor.
According to Burkina Information Agency, in his address, the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, invited every Burkinabe to translate their patriotism into concrete actions to build a sovereign, just and prosperous nation. He welcomed citizen initiatives such as the Patriotic Support Fund and Patriotic Immersion. The Head of State recalled that discipline and respect for public property are essential, while denouncing corruption, racketeering, and the misappropriation of resources. The President urged every citizen to be a model of integrity and responsibility in their living and working environment.
This ceremony was also an opportunity for Governor Siaka Barro to officially launch the fundraising campaign for the Faso-Mebo initiative, pending its actual launch in the region. A donation of six tons of cement, as well as gloves and shovels, was handed over immediately.
