Secondary School Teachers in Ziro Enhance Skills in Learning Assessment According to APC

Ziro: Secondary school teachers strengthen their skills in learning assessment according to the APC. Teachers in general and technical secondary education in Ziro province are participating, from October 7 to 10, 2025, in the pedagogical days (JAP) initiated by the Ministry of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training (MESFPT). Placed under the theme “The evaluation of learning according to the competency-based approach (APC)”. This session aims to strengthen the capacities of teachers for an effective and harmonized implementation of the educational reforms underway in the country.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the work is taking place simultaneously at three sites in Sapouy, including the departmental high school (LD), the municipal high school (LM), and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Centre (CETFP). Private sector teachers have also been invited to this important educational meeting.



The provincial director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training of Ziro, Dramane Ilboudo, expressed his gratitude to the administrative, military, customary, and religious authorities for their constant efforts in favor of peace and stability in the province. “During these days of educational animation, the aim will be to strengthen your skills in APC/PI and on other topics related to the reforms undertaken by our ministry,” he said, while inviting teachers to fully take ownership of the reforms to ensure their success. He also congratulated his technical team for the work done upstream to ensure the success of this session.



The Secretary General of Ziro Province, Adams Davou, representing the High Commissioner, welcomed the holding of this activity which he considered to be of great importance for the consolidation of the teaching skills of teachers. “Burkina Faso is going through a period of profound social, economic and security upheavals which require a redefinition of national priorities, particularly in the education sector,” he recalled.



Referring to the ongoing reforms, Mr. Davou specified that they aim to improve the quality and relevance of education through the skills-based approach/Integrated Project (APC/PI), the introduction of vocational training, the creation of multi-purpose establishments, the establishment of the school council, and the strengthening of civic and citizenship education. “These educational days will further motivate you to work towards the success of the learners in your care, for the advent of more effective education,” he said to the teachers.



During four days of work, participants will take part in thematic communications, production workshops, group work, and plenary restitution sessions.
