Dakar: Burkinabe Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo urged Burkinabe living in Senegal on Tuesday in Dakar to act as true ambassadors of their homeland, distinguishing themselves through hard work, courage, and integrity. Addressing his compatriots, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo said that Burkinabe nationality today inspires “pride and respect,” but that it also represents a responsibility. “You must live up to the esteem our country exudes. Zero compromise,” he said.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of government also reiterated that Burkina Faso now firmly defends its sovereignty in all forums. “Regardless of the platform or the interlocutor, we unreservedly affirm the momentum assumed by Burkina Faso,” he stated. He emphasized that this firmness is accompanied by a fraternal openness towards other African peoples. As an example, he cited the decision of President Ibrahim Traore to introduce free visas for all African nationals wishing to travel to Burkina Faso.

“Our country does not build walls on its borders, because no one can be happy alone,” declared the Prime Minister, emphasizing Burkina Faso’s desire to strengthen African solidarity. Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo was in Dakar as part of the second edition of the Invest in Senegal Forum, held on October 7 and 8, 2025.
