Teachers Gather in Dori to Enhance Capacity for Educational Reforms

Dori: Primary school teachers in Seno province began their annual pedagogical conference in Dori on Wednesday. This meeting aims to strengthen their capacities to effectively implement reforms in the Burkinabe education system. The opening ceremony was chaired by the president of the special delegation of the commune of Dori, Atiana Ayiyongo, in the presence of the regional director of preschool, primary and non-formal education of the Sahel, Elhadji Boubacar, and the provincial director of preschool, primary and non-formal education of Seno, Hamadou Boureima Dicko.



According to Burkina Information Agency, in its opening speech, the PDS praised the commitment of teachers who, despite the current difficulties, continue to carry out their mission of education and training. He also conveyed to the participants the message of encouragement and support from the Minister of Basic Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages.



For four days, teachers will reflect on themes related to the implementation and generalization of ongoing educational reforms. The work will focus particularly on the appropriation of the curricula of the sub-cycles of the elementary course and on the pedagogical support tools associated with them. Thematic communications, workshop work, and model lessons are also included in the program, in order to allow participants to better understand and apply the guidelines of the new educational system.



The inspector, head of the Dori 1 basic education district, Mr. Michel Sanou, urged teachers to be actively involved in the work. According to him, their contribution is essential for the successful implementation of reforms in the classrooms and a sustainable improvement in the quality of education in the Seno province. Through this educational conference, the education stakeholders of Seno intend to contribute effectively to the success of the current reforms, a guarantee of a more efficient, inclusive Burkinabe school adapted to local realities.
