Fada n’gourma: The first president of the Court of Appeal of Fada N’Gourma, Fortune Gaetan ZONGO, officially installed three new magistrates on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The newly appointed officials include Kiwendsida Fidele Jean-Remy as the vice-president, Yempabou Onadja as the advisor, and Daouda Ouedraogo as the president of the chamber. The installation took place during a formal hearing.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the appointments were made by decree on July 17, 2025, and the ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including administrative, military, and paramilitary authorities. Religious and customary leaders, alongside a large number of citizens and family members, were present to show their support for the appointees.
The Attorney General at the Fada N’Gourma Court of Appeal, Bernabe Compaore, emphasized that the installation enhances the court’s management team and revitalizes the justice system in the region. He stated that the mission of the magistrates is to uphold the law with respect and humanity, amidst challenges like insecurity and terrorism.
Compaore urged the magistrates to acquaint themselves with recent reforms in the justice sector to better combat insecurity and serve as role models for young magistrates. He stressed their role in strengthening public confidence in justice through their conduct and expertise.
Representing the newly installed magistrates, Yempabou Onadja expressed feelings of gratitude, joy, and duty. He acknowledged the trust placed in them by the High Council of the Judiciary and highlighted the importance of living up to the mission’s expectations and addressing current challenges for public satisfaction.
This installation marks a significant moment for the Fada N’Gourma Court of Appeal, which is expected to play a crucial role in upholding the rule of law and reinforcing justice in the Goulmou region.
