Ouagadougou: The population cleans up the CMA of Hounde as part of the JEPPC 2025. As part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), the population, under the leadership of the High Commissioner of the province of Tuy, Issiaka Segda, carried out, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, a sanitation operation at the Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA) of Hounde.
According to Burkina Information Agency, during the 2nd phase of the JEPPC, residents mobilized strongly to give a new face to the CMA of Hounde. The event was chaired by the High Commissioner of Tuy Province, represented by the Secretary General of the Province (SGP), Dieudonne Zeida, and brought together local authorities, religious communities, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), young people, women, civic watch actors as well as health workers.
In the early hours of the morning, the participants, armed with dabas, machetes, rakes and brooms, began cleaning the courtyard of the medical center. The men focused on weeding the area, particularly around the buildings, and removed trash using tricycles. Meanwhile, the women concentrated on cleaning the maternity ward with dabas, brooms, and rakes.
The provincial women’s coordinator, Aminata Lamien, noted the women’s mobilization and highlighted their efforts to reduce mosquito presence and protect mothers and babies by weeding around the maternity wards. The SGP, Dieudonne Zeida, praised the strong participation of the population, attributing it to their civic commitment and support for government initiatives. He encouraged residents to maintain this momentum and announced upcoming sanitation operations.
Dr. Youssouf Ouedraogo, the head doctor of the Hounde health district, expressed gratitude to the authorities for selecting the Hounde CMA for this civic activity. He emphasized that the initiative would contribute to a cleaner and safer environment for patient care. Dr. Ouedraogo also urged the community to adopt good hygiene practices, particularly by identifying and eliminating mosquito breeding sites.
