Dori: The Diocese of Dori celebrated the ordination of two new priests this Saturday, July 12, 2025. Father Michael Okechukwu NWABUEZE, from Nigeria, and Father Benjamin Komi Modjinou EGOU, from Togo, were ordained during a ceremony at the Sainte Anne Cathedral Parish in Dori.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ordination was presided over by Bishop Th©ophile NARE, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Dori. The two deacons received the sacrament of orders through the laying on of hands by the bishop, marking their entry into priesthood to serve God and the Church. The event offered an opportunity for the diocese to express gratitude for the new priestly vocations.
The event was attended by a large number of worshippers from various localities, along with administrative, traditional, and religious authorities. Notably, the Grand Imam of Dori was present, extending congratulations to the new priests and advocating for peace, tolerance, and unity among religious communities.
The presence of the Grand Imam and leaders of other religious groups was perceived as a significant gesture of interreligious fraternity in a region facing security and social challenges.
